Did you know that tooth brushing for kids is an essential treatment to ensure their smile can remain safe? Just as toothbrushes are essential oral health care products that can improve your oral health, so too can they improve a child’s smile. However, you must be making sure that you brush your child’s teeth effectively and slowly, so the brush can do the job assigned to it.
Brushing your child’s mouth is much the same as it is for an adult mouth. However, you will need to lower the amount of toothpaste you use for a child. If they are under 3 years old, using an amount roughly the size of a grain of rice. If they are between 3 and 6 years old, use an amount roughly the size of a pea. Don’t use adult toothpaste, but instead use toothpaste has been approved by their pediatric dentist.
Remember to never share your brushing utensils between you and your child, as contamination can occur. Bacteria can be passed between you and your child. To ensure you are brushing your child’s smile correctly, make sure to bring them to their dentist for routine exams. Always brush their teeth twice a day and make sure that you are brushing gently and slowly.
